மயிலாடுதுறை மாவட்டம் சீர்காழி அருகே ஆலாலசுந்தரம் ஊராட்சியில், திருஞானசம்பந்தம் வள்ளுவர் தெருவில் இருபதுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட வள்ளுவ சமுதாய குடும்பங்கள் வசிக்கின்றனர். இங்கு இறந்தவர்களின் உடலை சுடுகாட்டிற்கு எடுத்து செல்ல சாலை வசதி இல்லாமல், வயல்வெளி வழியே எடுத்துச் செல்லும் அவலநிலை நான்கு தலைமுறைகளாக இன்று வரை தொடர்கிறது. மயிலாடுதுறையில் சமீபத்தில் கனமழை பெய்த நிலையில், கடந்த திங்கட்கிழமை அன்று வள்ளுவ தெருவைச் சேர்ந்த கனகராஜ் (80) வயது முதிர்வின் காரணமாக மரணமடைந்தார். இவரின் உடலை நல்லடக்கம் செய்ய முழங்கால் அளவு தண்ணீருடன் பல இன்னல்களுக்கு இடையே வயல்வெளி வழியே எடுத்து செல்லும் துயர நிகழ்வானது சமூக வலைதளங்களில் பரவியது. வயல்வெளி வழியே சுடுகாட்டிற்கு செல்லும் மக்கள் இதுகுறித்து அப்பகுதி மக்களிடம் பேசியபோது, நாங்க நாலு தலைமுறையாவே ரோடே இல்லாமல், வயல் வழியாதான் சுடுகாட்டுக்கு போனவர்களை அடக்கம் பண்ண தூக்கிக்கொண்டு போகிறோம். நாங்களும் ஜெராக்ஸ் காப்பி வராதத்துக்கு முன்னாடி காலத்திலிருந்தே மனுவாக கொடுத்துக்கொண்டு தான் இருக்கிறோம். எங்களுக்கு அப்ப தெரிந்தது எல்லாம் மனு கொடுக்கிறது மட்டும்தான். பாட்டன் பூட்டன் காலம் போய், எங்க காலமே வந்துவிட்டது. ஆனா, இப்ப வரை ரோடு மட்டும் போட்டபாடில்லை. வயல்ல வரப்பு கூட கொஞ்ச தூரம் தான் இருக்கும். மீதி தூரம் நடு வயல்ல தான் இறங்கி போக வேண்டும். சும்மா 250மீ தூரம் வயல்ல நடந்துதான் அந்த சுடுகாட்டுக்கு போக வேண்டும். வெயில் காலத்துல கூட தெரியவில்லை. இப்ப மழைக்காலம் வேற, இப்ப பெய்த மழையில் வயல்ல மூணு அடி ஆழத்துக்கு தண்ணி நிக்குது. இந்த தண்ணீரில் தனி மனிதன் நடந்து போவதே ரொம்ப சிரமம் தான். இதுல செத்து போனவர்களை தூக்கிக்கொண்டு போறது பெரும் பாடுதான். ரொம்ப போராடி மூணு அடி தண்ணீரில் முக்கால் அளவு நனைந்து ரொம்ப பொறுமையா பார்த்து பக்குவமாய் தான் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போக வேண்டும். போன திங்கட்கிழமை கூட எங்க ஊர்ல கனகராஜ் என்று ஒருத்தர் இறந்துவிட்டார். அவரையும், இந்த வயல் வழியாகத்தான், சுடுகாட்டிற்கு எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போக வேண்டும் ஆனால், வயலில் பார்த்தால் ஒரே தண்ணியாவே இருந்துச்சி. வயல்வெளி வழியே சுடுகாட்டிற்கு செல்லும் மக்கள் எப்படி எடுத்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போவது என்று தெரியவில்லை. வேற வழியும் இல்லை. பல திண்டாட்டத்திற்கு அப்புறம் அந்த வயலில் உள்ள சேறும் சகதியுமான தண்ணீரிலேயே, நடக்க முடியாமல் நடந்து, முட்டி அளவு தண்ணீரில் முழுகி, அடக்கம் பண்ணிவிட்டு வருவதற்குள் ஒரே அவஸ்தையாக போய்விட்டது. அப்போதுதான் எங்க ஊரில் உள்ள ஒரு பையன் வீடியோ எடுத்து போட்டான். அப்படி இறந்துபோனவர்களின் உடலை காட்டுக்கு எடுத்துக்கொண்டு சென்றாலும், அங்கு அந்த உடலை வைத்து கடைசியாக சுத்தி வர கூட முடியாது. அடக்கம் மட்டும் தான் செய்ய முடியும். ஏன்னா? எங்க சுடுகாடு 10க்கு 10 என்று அந்த அளவு ரொம்ப சின்னதாக இருக்கும். இறுதிச்சடங்கில் கவிழ்ந்த வாகனம்; `சுடுகாட்டுக்கு சாலை' கேட்டு தொடர்ந்து போராடும் கிள்ளியூர் மக்கள் சுடுகாடும் அங்கங்க விரிசல் விட்டு மோசமாகத்தான் இருக்கு. கடந்த ரெண்டு வருசமா நாங்களும் தீவிரமா போராடுறோம். யூனியன் ஆபிஸ்ல நிறைய மனுக் கொடுத்திருக்கோம். ஆனால், எந்த நடவடிக்கையும் எடுத்த பாடில்லை. எடுப்பதாகவும் தெரியல. வயல்வெளி வழியே சுடுகாட்டிற்கு செல்லும் மக்கள் எங்களுக்கு செத்து போனவங்கள அடக்கம் பண்ண இப்ப இருக்கும் சுடுகாடு இடத்தை இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் பெரிதாக்கி அடிப்படை வசதியோட புது சுடுகாடும், சுடுகாட்டுக்கு போறதுக்கு தார்சலையும் தரமான முறையில் அமைத்து கொடுத்துட்டாலே போதும், சீக்கிரம் அமைத்து கொடுத்துட்ட நல்லா இருக்கும். மழைக்காலமாக வேற இருக்கு, இவர அடக்கம் பண்ணதே பெரிய போராட்டமாதான் இருந்துச்சி, திரும்பவும் இப்படியென்றால் ரொம்ப கஷ்டமாகிடும் என்று கவலையுடன் கூறினர். இதுகுறித்து கொள்ளிடம் வட்டார வளர்ச்சி அலுவலர் ஜாக்சன் கூறியதாவது, சுடுகாட்டிற்கு செல்வதற்கான சாலை அமைப்பதற்கான நிலம் தனிநபருக்கு சொந்தமான நிலமாக இருப்பதால், மாவட்ட ஆதிதிராவிடர் நல அலுவலர் மூலமாக சாலை அமைப்பதற்கு தேவையான நிலம் உரிமையாளரிடம் பெறப்பட்டு, நிலம் நகராட்சி ஆணையர் கொள்ளிடம் பெயரில் மாற்றிக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டால் சாலை அமைத்து தரலாம் என்று கூறினார். ``40 நாள் கூட ஆகல, அதுக்குள்ளயே ரோடு பொளந்துட்டு வந்துடுச்சி'' - குமுறும் அரசராம்பட்டு மக்கள்

Mumbai: HT Media has initiated the shutdown of two FM radio stations in Chennai, marking a significant consolidation of its southern radio operations. While formal confirmations are emerging only now, the company’s 94.3 FM frequency had already gone silent a couple of weeks ago, with broadcasts ceasing well before the official filings.The development follows decisions by two HT Media subsidiaries. Next Radio Limited was the first to pull the plug, surrendering the license for its 94.3 FM station, which officially discontinued operations from 24 October 2025. Media trackers had noted that the channel went mute well ahead of this date.Subsequently, the board of HT Music and Entertainment Company Limited (HTME) approved the relinquishment of the Fever FM (91.9 MHz) license during its meeting on 25 November 2025. The station is scheduled to stop broadcasts from 24 December 2025. Both subsidiaries have now filed applications with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) to return their respective licenses.In its filing to SEBI, HT Media clarified that both stations were voluntarily surrendered despite having license validity until 31 March 2030. The company noted that the channels were no longer financially or strategically viable, contributing only marginally to overall revenues. In FY25, 94.3 FM added ₹2.17 crore (0.12% of total revenue), while Fever FM 91.9 generated ₹4.58 crore (0.25%).
