Mumbai: The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) Academy, in collaboration with Futurebrands Consulting, has unveiled its latest research study titled ‘What the Sigma?’, offering deep insights into how Generation Alpha (aged 7–15) interacts with content, advertising, and digital environments.Launched at the inaugural ASCI AdTrust Summit 2026, the ethnographic study explores how children today navigate a hyper-digital world where advertising, entertainment, and identity increasingly overlap. Conducted across six Indian cities, the research includes in-home observations, peer discussions, and interviews with parents, teachers, psychologists, marketers, and young content creators.The study reveals that Gen Alpha experiences the digital ecosystem as a continuous, immersive environment rather than distinct online and offline worlds. Their cultural codes, language, and aesthetics are globally synchronised, often making them difficult for adults to interpret or relate to.According to the findings, younger children (7–12 years) are able to identify overt advertisements but often fail to recognise embedded commercial messaging such as influencer promotions or branded content. Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) today signed a significant Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) with the Publications Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, to collaborate on the printing and publication of books and knowledge resources for India’s AVGC-XR and creative technology ecosystem.Under the agreement, the Publications Division will act as the official publisher for select IICT works, undertaking printing and production. The collaboration will operate under a 100% buy-back arrangement, wherein IICT will retain full copyright and intellectual property rights while assuming complete responsibility for distribution, circulation, and commercial aspects of the published works.The partnership aims to enable the publication of high-quality knowledge resources across animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, films, and extended reality (XR), while ensuring adherence to government publishing standards and contributing to cultural preservation.Marking the occasion, the Hindi edition of Hum Dono: The Dev and Goldie Story by Tanuja Chaturvedi was also launched at IICT Mumbai. Mumbai: Bajaj Electricals Limited has announced the acquisition of intellectual property and brand rights of Morphy Richards in India and select South Asian markets for a consideration of ₹141.4 crore. The move marks a significant milestone in the company’s long-standing association with the UK-origin brand.The acquisition builds on over two decades of collaboration between Bajaj Electricals and Morphy Richards, which began under a licensing arrangement in 2002. With this deal, Bajaj Electricals will gain full ownership and control of the brand across India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, enabling it to independently steer the brand’s growth and strategy in these markets.Founded in 1936 in the UK, Morphy Richards is known globally for its premium, design-led home appliances and personal care products.
