Ravi Mohan Studios drops ‘BroCode’ title after settlement in Delhi High Court
Mumbai: The Delhi High Court has recorded a settlement between IndoSpirit Beverages Private Limited (IndoBevs) and Ravi Mohan Studios Private Limited in a trademark infringement dispute over the use of the mark “BroCode” as the title of an upcoming film.The dispute arose after Ravi Mohan Studios announced a cinematographic project titled “Bro Code.” IndoBevs alleged that the title infringed its registered trademark “BROCODE,” associated with its beverage brand launched in 2016.Earlier in the proceedings, the Delhi High Court had granted an ad-interim injunction on October 14, 2025, restraining the studio from using the mark “BROCODE” or any deceptively similar mark in connection with the film. The restriction covered the film’s trailers, teasers, promotional materials and social media campaigns. While permitting the production of the film to continue, the court observed that using the mark as a film title was prima facie likely to cause confusion and could lead consumers to believe the film was associated with the BROCODE brand.Following the interim order, the parties entered mediation under the aegis of the Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre, which resulted in a settlement agreement. As part of the settlement, Ravi Mohan Studios Private Limited agreed to discontinue the use of the title “BROCODE” and remove the name from all promotional materials and digital content related to the film.The studio has also withdrawn proceedings it had previously initiated before the Madras High Court.By an order dated February 17, 2026, the Delhi High Court recorded the settlement and decreed the suit in terms of the agreement, effectively bringing the dispute to a close. The film is now expected to proceed under a new title yet to be announced.

Social Media Tops Fraud Channels With 50% Cases but Remains Least Trusted by Users: Report
Brussels: A new study commissioned by Proximus Global has highlighted the growing threat that digital fraud and AI-generated scams pose to brand trust, revealing that consumers are increasingly wary of online communications from companies.The research, conducted by Forrester Consulting, part of Forrester Research, surveyed 1,673 digital users aged 18–64 globally for the report titled “Rebuilding Trust in a High Fraud Digital World.” The findings indicate that digital channels used by brands to interact with consumers are becoming increasingly vulnerable to sophisticated fraud attempts driven by artificial intelligence.According to the report, one in five consumers now faces fraud attempts every week, while 85% of digital users say they would stop engaging with a brand after experiencing fraud associated with it. The study underscores how fraud has moved beyond a reputational risk to become a serious threat to brand loyalty and long-term customer relationships.Social media has emerged as the primary channel for digital deception, accounting for 50% of reported fraud cases. At the same time, it ranks among the least trusted digital platforms, with only 19% of respondents expressing confidence in the channel.The research also highlights growing anxiety around AI-generated content. Nearly 63% of users said they do not trust AI-generated output, while 75% believe that AI in the wrong hands could accelerate fraud and misuse across digital platforms.For consumers who have experienced fraud connected to a brand, trust appears difficult to rebuild. The study found that only 15% of fraud victims continue to engage with or purchase from a brand after such incidents. Even after resolution efforts, the damage often persists, with 57% of victims requesting refunds and 43% warning friends and family about the brand.Commenting on the findings, Seckin Arikan, CEO, Proximus Global, said: “Brand loyalty today is extremely fragile. A single fraud incident can irreversibly damage trust overnight, with most victims ready to walk away from a brand immediately after. Enterprises must treat security and authentic engagement as their most aggressive growth strategy. Trust is the driver of platform adoption, evoking positive user sentiments that translate into higher advocacy, recommendations, and continued engagement.” The report suggests that as AI-powered fraud becomes more widespread, companies will need to prioritise stronger digital security, verification systems and transparent communication strategies to protect consumer trust and safeguard their brand reputation in an increasingly complex digital environment.

PRISM launches ‘Rising OYO’ campaign to strengthen brand visibility across key tourist markets

Mumbai: A new report by pi-labs has raised alarm over the rising misuse of artificial intelligence in the creation of deepfakes, revealing that 93% of explicit deepfake victims are women. The findings highlight how synthetic media, once considered a fringe technological risk, has evolved into a widespread digital threat with a distinctly gendered impact.According to the report, deepfake content targeting women has increased by 900% in recent years, underscoring the growing scale of technology-driven online abuse. In India, the broader cybercrime landscape reflects a similar escalation, with complaints involving women rising from around 50,000 in 2024 to nearly 80,000 by 2026, marking an increase of roughly 60% in two years.The study notes that almost 98% of deepfake pornography targets women, largely driven by face-swapping applications and bot networks that disproportionately target females, including school-age girls. Victims in India are often within the 18–30 age group, ranging from students to young professionals, with cities like Bengaluru reporting a rising number of such incidents.Despite the scale of the issue, reporting remains low. Globally, 62% of deepfake abuse cases involving women go unreported due to stigma, while research in India suggests that more than one-third of women facing online harassment take no action. Many victims reportedly reduce their online presence after experiencing abuse. The report also found that 33% of women are unaware of laws designed to protect them from online harassment.City-level data further illustrates the spread of cybercrime across India’s urban centres. These synthetic personalities are gaining significant traction on social media platforms, raising complex questions around digital credibility and trust. The report suggests that society may soon see AI-generated personalities gaining popularity comparable to real-world celebrities.Containing deepfakes remains a major challenge due to the widespread availability of generative AI tools and the increasing number of rogue creators. Industry estimates indicate that more than 5,000 face-swap tools and over 1,000 voice-cloning applications are currently accessible online, enabling deepfake content to be created and circulated at scale.To address the issue, pi-labs has developed pi-authentify, an AI-driven detection system that scans digital media for traces left by generative tools. By using AI against AI, the system flags suspected deepfakes and generates an authenticity score that can assist with takedown efforts or legal action. Another solution, NaMoKavach, allows users to submit suspicious media through a secure portal and receive a confidential verification assessment within two working days.The report concludes that minimising digital footprints and adopting deepfake detection tools remain among the most practical preventive steps. As synthetic media continues to evolve, the findings underline the urgent need for coordinated action from individuals, technology companies and digital platforms to address what is increasingly becoming a critical online safety issue.

Mumbai: Bharat Intelligence, an agritech startup building a formal and dignified marketplace for agricultural labour, has appointed Anurag Bisoi as its Chief Product Officer (CPO). The move marks a key milestone in the company’s transition from early-stage execution to large-scale productisation across rural labour markets.Bisoi joins Bharat Intelligence as a seasoned entrepreneur and product builder. He previously co-founded Animall, one of India’s largest dairy technology platforms, where he led product architecture and growth. Under the founding team’s leadership, Animall scaled to over 10 million downloads, helping digitise a fragmented ecosystem of dairy farmers across the country.He built products for low-literacy, vernacular-first users operating in informal markets, designing intuitive workflows that enabled adoption in some of India’s most underserved regions. The platform went on to raise over ₹200 crore in institutional funding and expand nationwide.Beyond Animall, Bisoi has worked at the intersection of product, infrastructure and emerging technology, focusing on building systems capable of operating reliably in complex, offline-first environments.At Bharat Intelligence, he will focus on converting on-ground execution into repeatable, measurable and scalable product infrastructure.
